MEDIA EVENT RECAP – SUNDAY, MARCH 25
RODDICK ROCKS IN MAKE-A-WISH SKYPE: Andy Roddick took a break from his training schedule to grant a wish for a child in Hong Kong. Wai Ming, a 15-year old boy who is fighting cancer, had one wish – to receive a taped video message from tennis star Andy Roddick. Unfortunately, Ming was too sick to travel and is currently in the hospital recovering from his most recent surgery. Make-A-Wish Hong Kong provided the child with autograph Roddick memorabilia. The two-time Sony Ericsson Open champion decided to make Ming’s wish more personal and Skyped with him. The two conversed for 15 minutes Sunday morning. Roddick even offered to have Ming and his family come watch him play in Shanghai later this year.
CELEBRITY SIGHTINGS: Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and current No.1 contender ‘Suga’ Rashad Evans came to the Sony Ericsson Open to watch Victoria Azarenka take on Heather Watson. The two met earlier this week at a gym in Miami where Evans showed the defending Sony Ericsson Open champion, some of his winning moves.
